Your Business is a Goldmine

Whilst we need to stay aware during this difficult climate, you must remember that what you focus on is what you get.

If you focus on the 'not enough clients, not enough money', this will become your reality.  People are spending money, just look around you.  I was out yesterday for Mother’s Day and the restaurant was packed. Plus it was doing two sittings.  The best part (for them) was that the food was 50% more expensive because you could only book for a three course lunch!

This got me thinking about the goldmine opportunities that are in your business.  Areas of untapped profits exist in your business right know.  Here are my top three tips for you to try out this week:

1.  Your Existing Customers

Your customer list is YOUR most important asset.  Once you have sold to a customer and have done a good job, they trust you.  The relationship has begun.   An existing customer is 14 times more likely to buy from you, than a new customer.

So ask yourself, “What else could I offer them”.  The key is to communicate to them regularly.  Let them know what you have to offer, or advice and tips that you have come across.

The goldmine is in the relationship.  Find out what your customers needs and wants are and give it to them.

2. Increasing Sales, at no additional costs

This is how this works - if you send out a mailshot, buy some advertising or buy traffic to your website it costs £X regardless of the number of sales you have.  Don’t you agree?

It is possible to increase your response rates by making changes to your mailshot, advertising or bought traffic to your website.

• Change the headline, make it standout.
• Change your copy to make it more appealing.
• Change your call to action i.e. ‘call today to receive XXXX’.

Improving your existing marketing will cost you nothing, but it will allow you to tap into one of your goldmines.

3. Traffic to Your Website

Only 1% of visitors who arrive at your website will take any action!  That means that 99% are leaving you for good.

If you reduce that figure to 98%, you have doubled your online sales!

How do you do this?  Stop trying to get an instant sale or just being a brochure site.  People are looking for information on the web, so give it to them.

Focus on getting your visitors to give you their contact details in exchange for some information i.e. a Free Report, download Video or Audio.   It doesn’t matter if you are solicitor or a kitchen design company, you all have knowledge and experience that your site visitors are looking for.  Don’t leave it to chance for them to call you.  Give them something in return for their details.
